About Me

Rhiannon Nachbaur is an elated newcomer to Kamloops, having recently moved from small town Canoe, BC.  She played first violin with the Kamloops Symphony for the 1999 season then second violinist after the group changed to professional status from 2012 to present.

Rhianmon is also Concertmaster of the Kamloops Brandenburg Orchestra under Cvetozar Vutev and acting Concertmaster of the Thompson Valley Orchestra under Don Bennett.

Originally self-taught on the violin and viola in her native San Diego, Rhiannon has played many styles from classical violin to country fiddle, celtic to rock, metal to jazz and is a versatile and engaging performer.  She was the very first Selkirk Professional Music (now Selkirk College Contemporary Music Program) Violin Performance Major and took Honours (Nelson, BC 1997).

Her playing has earned her distinctions such as "Classical Artist of the Year" two times with the BC Interior Music Awards (2006, 2007), the "1995 Bank of America Achievement Award in the Field of Music" and many "Superior" marks in SCSBOA Festivals in California as a youth (1992-1995).

Rhiannon is featured on several albums and an interactive mixed media installation by respected artists Janet Cardiff & George Bures Miller. She runs a highly sought-after and multi-award-winning online violin shop, Fiddeheads Violin Studio, which provides unique student to master level violins to players around the world.
